Introducing Pattern the Ends
Youth Launch Event // August 2021
The youth launch event at Marcus Lipton Community Centre set the tone for an exciting year ahead. After welcomes and some incredible performances, our youth community explored the impact of youth violence, why they were passionate to be there and how they want to play a part in the solution. Please explore the ideas and inspiring voices of ‘Pattern the Ends’ below.
Top recommendations from attendees for reducing youth violence:
Create more apprenticeships and job opportunities for young people
Provide more opportunities for travel and residential trips
Improve access to local youth clubs and organised groups
Supply trauma informed support and therapy for young people who have experienced youth violence
Which recommendations can be acted on quickly:
First aid training
Improved outreach
Increase advertisement of music studio and sports programmes
Self-defence classes and boxing
Improve awareness of youth violence for parents / families
Education and lessons on abuse
Improve young people’s knowledge of society / sociology
We’d like to share our immense gratitude to all the young people who joined us and will continue to drive us forward. We’d also like to thank everyone who contributed to making it such an inspiring occasion. Find a round up of those humans below!
